We are a no-audition community orchestra! We welcome musicians of all backgrounds and skill levels to join us, as long as you are passionate about playing and performing! We will work with you to modify the pieces, if necessary. We also welcome musicians that want to practice their arranging or conducting skills.

Legal Agreement

This agreement (the “Agreement”) is for the Norwalk Gamer Symphony Orchestra, Inc. (“NGSO”) and is required by its members, officers, board members, volunteers, staff, representatives, successors, and assigns (“Representatives”) and any individuals engaging in activities, with, conducted, led, hosted, sponsored by, or otherwise associated with NGSO (“Activities”).

Music Distribution *

I hereby agree to keep private any music granted to me by the NGSO. I will not copy, upload, or otherwise disseminate the sheet music outside of NGSO.

Code of Conduct *

I acknowledge that I have read NGSO’s Code of Conduct available at https://www.norwalkgso.org/code-of-conduct as such Code may be amended from time to time and without notice, and I agree to abide by the same. I understand and agree that I may be involuntarily discharged if I do not adhere to the Code of Conduct.

Photo/Video & Publicity Release *

I hereby grant NGSO permission to use my/my child’s likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment, royalties, or other consideration. I understand and agree that all photos/video/media will become the property of NGSO and will not be returned. I hereby irrevocably authorize NGSO to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these photos/videos/media for any lawful purpose. In addition, I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein my likeness appears.

Authorization for Emergency Medical Treatment *

In the event emergency medical aid/treatment is required due to illness or injury while engaging in Activities, I authorize NGSO to secure and retain medical treatment and transportation on my/my child’s/my ward’s behalf, if needed, and release records upon request to the authorized individual or agency involved in emergency medical treatment. I will be responsible for all expenses associated with and/or relating to any such emergency medical aid/treatment.

Confidentiality and Privacy *

I shall never disclose any Confidential Information to anyone other than NGSO staff unless required by applicable law in which case I will promptly notify NGSO in writing in advance. “Confidential Information” includes, but is not limited to, personally identifiable information such as names, telephone numbers, addresses, e-mails, non-public business records of NGSO such as business information, policies, procedures, and processes, in each case, regardless of how or where conveyed and in whatever medium. I have read and understand the NGSO Privacy Policy available at https://www.norwalkgso.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/NGSO_Website_Privacy_Policy.pdf as such policy may be amended from time to time without notice and agree to abide by the same.

Liability Acknowledgement and Release *

I hereby acknowledge and assume the risks, including bodily harm, exposure to communicable diseases, and/or damage to property as a result of my participating in any Activities. I am hereby intending to be legally bound for myself, my heirs, agents, representatives, assigns, executors, administrators and/or other legal representatives: (i) waive and release NGSO and Representatives from and against any liability, however caused, for any injury, fatality, loss, harm, or damage suffered or sustained relating to NGSO by way of any Activities, and in all cases, including the negligence of these related parties; (ii) agree not to sue or make any claims against NGSO or Representatives for any injuries, losses, harm or damage to myself or my property or for any third party claims; and (iii) will indemnify NGSO or Representatives from all costs, including attorney’s fees and expenses, in connection with any such claims.

Acknowledgement

By signing below, I hereby acknowledge that (i) I have read and understand this Agreement in its entirety and freely and voluntarily accept its terms; (ii) my/my child’s/my ward’s participation in any Activity is contingent upon my acceptance and signing of this Agreement; (iii) I/my child/my ward will not be compensated for participating in any Activities and will not be acting as an employee of NGSO; and (iv) this Agreement is governed by the laws of the state of Connecticut (excluding its conflict of laws rules) and I consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
